Biography / History

Professor Robert C. Paehlke received his B.A. at Lehigh, his M.A. at the New School for Social Research and his Ph.D. at the University of British Columbia. In 1971 he joined the Trent University Political Studies teaching staff. Also in 1971 he became the founding editor of the "Alternatives" journal produced at Trent University and now produced at the University of Waterloo. He was the department head of the Enviromental and Resource Studies program from 1975 to 1977 and department head of the Political Studies program from 1982 to 1985. He has published widely in the areas of environmentalism and administration and received Canada Council Doctoral Fellowships in 1968-69 and 1969-70.

This fonds was created by and in the custody of Professor Robert Paehlke before it was donated to the Trent University Archives.

Scope and Content

This fonds consists of correspondence and lists of bibliographic citations on asbestos, uranium mining, hazardous and toxic chemicals, insecticide spraying, recycling and waste management as well as other environmental issues.
