Test of the Emergency Communication System Today

Test of Trent University's Emergency Communication System - Wednesday, January 13

Please note that a test of Trent University's Emergency Communication System will take place today (Wednesday, January 13) at 1:45 pm. The test aims to:

1.  Provide all members of the Trent community with information and an opportunity to practice a lockdown to increase their chances of surviving in the unlikely event of an armed intruder on campus.

2.  Identify locations that cannot be physically locked from inside the space and offer options to persons who may be in those locations.

3.  Identify gaps in the Emergency Communications System coverage and promote the free MyBeat http://mybeat.peterboroughpolice.ca/ and the new TCSA app text and email alert system to cover those gaps.

The Library will be open as normally scheduled, however students are asked to take the time be aware of emergency exits, and secure areas that could be accessed in the event of an emergency.

For more information or to provide feedback about this exercise, please email ecstest@trentu.ca .
