ESRI: Campus Access to ArcGIS Desktop

Campus Access to ESRI ArcGIS Desktop (ArcInfo)

Trent University is currently supporting ArcGIS for Desktop 10.5.1.

ArcGIS for Desktop Software can be accessed by registered members of Trent University from a number of locations at Trent including  labs in Otonabee College, the DNA building, Traill College and on Oshawa campus.

ArcGIS Desktop requires Windows operating system.  Further system requirements are described on Esri's web site.

Trent faculty and staff can obtain software for their offices and research labs by downloading software from the Trent network. Computers must be Trent imaged, Windows 10 and linked to the Trent backbone. Software can be used for academic research and teaching only, commercial use is prohibited.

To download and install software for a Trent Office or Research Lab  (this option is availalbe to Trent faculty and staff only) :

After installing ArcGIS Desktop 10.5.1 you may also wish to install the Esri ArcGIS Desktop Tutoria Data (1.689 GB), and the Esri ArcGIS Desktop Interoperability extension (740 MB). These options are not essential and can loaded at a different time, as required.

NOTE, if you are running older versions of ArcGIS for Desktop software:

ArcGIS 10.5.1 installs directly over ArcGIS 10.1 and higher. Versions prior to 10.1, must be removed before installing version 10.5.1. ESRI provides an uninstall utility for this purpose.  Please contact MaDGIC for further information.

In addition to obtaining software for campus use, one copy of software can be obtained for off-campus use, provided the software is being used in support of academic research and teaching.  See ArcGIS Education Edition software for more information.
