Available February 3 - March 3, 2014

We've arranged a one-month trial of this resource, most useful to French literature studies.  It is a French database, with only some English content.

From the Classique Garnier (the publisher) website:

This Corpus Montaigne is the result of twenty years’ dedicated research: it contains all the different editions of the works of Montaigne in the 16th and 17th centuries, published from the manuscripts and the printed originals.  These editions offer three different levels:

  1. The diplomatic editions in text-mode, exact copy of the printed originals (several typographical fonts were created to this end). Diplomatic editions are the only way to ensure safeguard and exploitation of all the data contained in the original texts.
  2. The critically established text, in text mode (correction of abbreviations and misprints, critical editing of the text).
  3. Modernised editions (modernised spelling).

Please send any comments about this trial to libraryhelp@trentu.ca.
