News: Scholars Portal Issues Due to Extreme Heat

Update: The issues have been resolved.  If you receive an "unavailable" error when accessing RefWorks, clear your cache.

Due to extreme heat conditions in Toronto, the primary and backup air conditioners for the Scholars Portal data center went offline at 6pm last night.  Systems staff are working with U of T engineers to bring the cooling systems back online.  The higher than normal temperatures in the server room caused one of the disk arrays to fail and that has resulted in 2 services with data on that array to go offline -- RefWorks and SP Journals.  Scholars Portal systems staff are working to resolve all of these issues. 

Until this is fully resolved, there could be intermittent problems with RefWorks and SP Journals accessibility.
