Where can I find Study Space in Bata Library?

During the academic year there is high demand for study spaces in the library.

There are several types of seating in the library - individual, casual, collaborative and group study areas. There is seating on all 4 floors of the library. There are 3 computer areas; a large computer commons on the 1st floor, and 2 areas with computers on the 2nd (main) floor of the library.

There are also other rooms of the library that students can access for study when available.

Computer workstations

Instead of your laptop, you could sit at one of the many computer workstations on the 1st or 2nd floors.

Group Study Rooms

If you are in a group of 2 or more, group study rooms are available to book up to 2 hours/day. Students are reminded not to use the group study rooms for individual study.

There is seating on all 4 floors of the library. Please check around the perimeters of the library for available seats.

Study Booths

There are now 3 study booths around the atrium windows that are bookable for individual study:

BL 412.1 – up to 2 hours

BL 412.2 – up to 2 hours

BL 412.3 – up to 2 hours

BL 106.6 Classroom  (1st floor)

(when this room is not in use for classes, it can be used for quiet study. It will be booked for classes beginning in January 2019).

BL 210 Microforms Reading Room

Alongside the microform viewing stations, there are also a few workstaions  available for students for individual study. The room is located behind the Service Desk.

BL 411 Training & Discourse Room ( 4th floor)

(when this room is not booked for training/workshops, it can be used for quiet study)

Time of Day

The Library is not as busy during the morning hours. The library opens at 8:00 am and closes at 12:00 am daily (1:00 am during exams).

Please visit our website: trentu.ca/library for library & service desk hours.

Good luck on your studies this term.
