Group Study Rooms

The study rooms in the Bata and Oshawa Campus Libraries are available for use by registered Trent undergraduate and graduate students for group study or projects relating to a Trent course. Rooms may be booked online via the Trent Library website by any student with a valid Trent user name and password.

Be fair to others: no student or group may make more than one booking per day.

Guidelines

  • Study rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis to groups of two or more.
  • Key for room BL 309 is signed out at the Bata Circulation/Service Desk using a valid Trent Library card.
  • Study rooms may be booked up to one week in advance. Please note: no student or group may make more than one booking per day.
  • Bookings are accepted for a maximum of two hours. If there are no further bookings, the group may continue to use the room beyond the two hour time limit.
  • A group who does not occupy the room within 15 minutes of the start time of the booking is considered to have forfeited their booking. The Library may delete the booking so that another group may book the room.
  • All rooms must be vacated 30 minutes prior to Library closing.
  • Students must observe library regulations, and leave the room in good order. The student booking the room is responsible to the Library for the cost of repairing any damage to the room that occurs during the period of use, and for the replacement cost of any equipment that is lost or stolen.
  • The Library is not responsible for loss or damage of items left unattended in the room.
  • The Library's food and drink policy applies in all group study rooms.

Room information

All rooms have electrical outlets for computers. The Reid Morden Room (BL 309) is equipped with a whiteboard and a SmartBoard.

  • Room 309 (Bata Library, Reid Morden Room) : capacity 10 people.  Key required - sign out at Circulation Desk.
  • Room 202 (Bata Library, Trent-Fleming Room) : capacity 9 people. 
  • Room 106.1 (Bata Library, First Floor) : capacity 6 people.
  • Room 106.8 (Bata Library, First Floor): capacity 4 people
  • Room 106.9 (Bata Library, First Floor): capacity 8 people
  • Room 106.10 Bata Library, First Floor) : capacity 4 people.
  • Room 106.11 (Bata Library, First Floor) : capacity 4 people.
  • Room 102.3 (Oshawa Campus, Study Room) : capacity 10 people.
  • Room 102.4 (Oshawa Campus, Study Room) : capacity 10 people.
