Objectives of the TA Training Certificate Program

Starting in September 2005, graduate students have been given the opportunity to participate in a complimentary program called the "Teaching Assistant Training Certificate Program." This program provides a core set of workshops that have been developed to boost graduate students' confidence in the classroom, and to equip them with the necessary skills and strategies to effectively fulfill their roles as teaching assistants at Trent University .

Participation in the TA Training Certificate Program

Participation in the TA Training Certificate Program is voluntary on the part of the graduate student. The program provides not only an opportunity for professional development around teaching, but also an opportunity to meet graduate student colleagues from across the university and at different points in their career path. This past year, 160 graduate students participated in at least one TA workshop. The participation rates by program and year offered are listed below for your information.
