Common Room:

Each of the six wings in the Peter Gzowski College residence feature it's own common area or lounge. Each lounge is outfitted with a couch, chairs, table, a television, a full size fridge, a microwave, a sink and two kitchen cabinets. Lounges are located in the middle of each wing and feature huge windows, making these spaces perfect for relaxing and socializing.

About the College

The new Peter Gzowski College includes a 250-bed residence, academic space for Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics plus the Office of Research and Graduate Studies. The building includes the First Peoples House of Learning, a home for the Native Studies department, and two lecture halls, a 100-seat performance space, a 60-seat case study room and eight smaller classrooms.

From One of Our Students...

Living in Gzowski provides a wonderful, unique experience of rez. As a new College, current and incoming students are in Gzowski’s formative years, and get to be a part of creating the traditions that will be passed on to future Gzowski-ers, which is a really cool experience. Gzowski is also unique in that it has semi-private washrooms, shared with your neighbour. This is a great set-up because it gives you all the perks and fun of having a roommate, but with the privacy of a single room. There’s a lot of fun programming in the building throughout the year, and the Trent Express bus pulls right up to our doorstep when you want to get off campus. All of this comes together to create an excellent first year experience, and the double beds and air conditioning are definitely an added bonus!

Telephone & Internet

Phone and internet service at Trent University is a new system as of 2006-2007.  High speed internet is provided as a "plug'n'go" service via Peterborough Utilities.  Phone service is provided via a voice over internet protocol (VOIP) through Nexicom.  The cost of each of these services is included in the residence fees.  The phone service includes a long list of features including 250 minutes per month of long distance calling in North America and 2.9 cents/minute for long distance calls after the first 250 minutes.  For an additional $10/month, students can receive unlimited long distance calling if they wish. There is no charge for incoming calls. There are competitive overseas rates that vary depending on the country and calling cards also work on the system for long distance. For more information please visit www.nexicom.net/trent.
