**Please note that the default meal plan for all apartments on Symons Campus is 1700 flex. If you wish to have a larger meal plan you must email your request to residence@trentu.ca. Champlain College's Junior Common Room is equipped with satellite television, air hockey, several couches and tables and chairs for group meetings or studying. The JCR is also part of the "wired Trent" network, so students can bring laptops to the JCR and plug into the Trent network. Champlain College is also home to the Great Hall, one of the hottest spots on campus for meeting friends and studying after hours. The Great Hall is also part of the "Air Trent" wireless network. The unique architecture of the college and its layout makes Champlain a memorable place. With two quads, six residential staircases, and numerous classrooms, Champlain College has everything students need to prosper at Trent University. The College administration, along with the student leaders on the College Cabinet and the Residential Donning team, work extremely hard year round to provide activities and support for all Champlain students. Students who live in residence have the opportunity to experience living away from home while still residing in a “family” atmosphere with their fellow students. Room & Furnishings and Dimensions These are not exactly the same in each room, but in general, they are similar. Bunk Beds Telephone & InternetHigh speed internet is provided as a "plug'n'go" service via Atria Networks. Phone service is provided via a voice over internet protocol (VOIP) through Nexicom. The cost of each of these services is included in the residence fees. The phone service includes a long list of features including 250 minutes per month of long distance calling in North America and 2.9 cents/minute for long distance calls after the first 250 minutes. For an additional $10/month, students can receive unlimited long distance calling if they wish. There is not cost for incoming calls. There are competitive overseas rates that vary depending on the country and calling cards also work on the system for long distance. For more information please visit www.nexicom.net/trent.
