The CBC Radio Peter Gzowski Internship

Gzowski Interns are selected annually to receive a week of training in the basics of radio production at the CBC in Toronto and spend the remainder of the internship gaining first-hand experience in contributing to radio programming in a variety of ways.
Created to honour the memory of Peter Gzowski, who died in 2002, the internship program with CBC Radio is available to final-year university students at four institutions across Canada that have a link to the well-known author, broadcaster, and columnist. They are: Trent University, McGill University in Montreal, Memorial University in St. John’s, and Simon Fraser University in British Columbia.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible, students must be in the final year of their undergraduate or graduate program and must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant.
HOW TO APPLY
The application process for 2011-2012 is now closed.
Applications must include the following:
- A one page Letter of Introduction describing what you are studying and why you are applying for a Gzowski Internship.
- A Curriculum Vitae (or resume)
- A short description of your idea for a radio program and what it would sound like (no more than one page)
- A short description of something you heard on the radio that you found compelling (no more than one page)
- An example of your creative work
- Three reference names and contact information, at least two of which are from outside your university. Reference letters will be solicited as needed.
