Traill College Campaign - $2M

The $2 million campaign to repurpose Trent’s historic Catharine Parr Traill College into a primarily graduate studies college, was successfully completed, and exceeded, in January 2008. In total, more than $2.1 million was raised.

The decision to retain and repurpose Traill College as a primarily graduate studies college to meet the growing demand for graduate education programs was approved by the Board of Governors in 2007, as part of a larger $42.4 million Facilities Renewal and Development Strategy.

Today, Traill College is evolving, building on its proud traditions and remains a vital linkage for Trent University to the broader Peterborough community.

Features and upgrades of the revitalized Traill College include:

  • Over $3.5 million in renovations
  • Conversion of former offices and residence rooms into 50 graduate student offices and 13 self-contained apartments
  • Installation of a three-storey elevator and construction of a new elevated walkway bridge at Wallis Hall
  • Relocation of administrative offices
  • Renovation of former dining hall and kitchen facilities in Scott House into new faculty offices and seminar rooms
  • Construction of a new Bagnani lecture hall
