Honours Thesis Application (GEOG 4010,4020)

Students interested in undertaking honours thesis research projects in GEOG 4010,4020 are required to submit an application by end of March. Download the application form here. Contact Prof. Jim Buttle, Geography Department Chair, for more information.

Geography Research Ethics Application

Specific information for completing the Department of Geography's Research Ethics application is included in the Geography research ethics application package. Ethics applications are normally due in early May and late October. Contact Marilyn Miller, Department Secretary, for more information.

Canadian Association of Geographers (CAG)

The Canadian Association of Geographers (CAG) is the national organization representing practicing geographers from public and private sectors and from universities. Visit the CAG website for information about geography graduate programs, conferences and job opportunities across Canada. Royal Canadian Geographical Society (RCGS)

The RCGS offers funding for undergraduate thesis research, and graduate research in human geography and northern geography. Previous RCGS grant competition winners include Trent geography alumni: Emily Addison (BA'00), Rachel Herron (BA '08) and Krista McEwen (BA'05). The deadline for RCGS grant applications is March. Trent University Undergraduate Society (TUGS)

TUGS is the longest running student society at Trent. With an annual program of activities, from introductory local field excursions to the much-anticipated Reach for the Peak tournament in the spring, it is a vibrant part of Geography at Trent. Contact Marilyn Miller for more information.

Community-Based Education (CBE) program

Community-based research projects completed as part of upper-year geography courses are facilitated through the Trent Centre for Community-Based Education and the U-Links Centre for Community-Based Research. Information about available projects in Peterborough and Haliburton is available on their websites.
