Professor Peter Adams, P.C.

Research and Teaching Interests:

Peter Adams' research focuses on biological and hydrological aspects of ice and snow. He has studied the mass balance of the White and Baby Glaciers and aspects of the limnology of Colour Lake in Axel Heiberg Island, Nunavut. Prof. Adams was M.P. (Peterborough), 1993-2006. Among other things, he was Chair of the Government Caucus on Post Secondary Education and Research and Canada's representative to the Parliamentarians of the Arctic.

Prior to his political career, Prof. Adams taught courses in Human and Physical Environments, Climatology, Snow and Ice Hydrometeorology, the Geography of Polar Regions and Watershed Ecosystems. Throughout his career, he has maintained active research interests in Canadian polar science, education and governance of polar regions and the ethics and practice of research in the North.
