Entrance Bursaries

Trent University is committed to supporting financial accessibility to post-secondary education.


New students without previous post-secondary experience, with a demonstrated financial need, may be eligible for an entrance bursary. Students must be eligible for OSAP, the aid from another provincial government or First Nations Band funding in order to receive a bursary at Trent University

Below you will find details about specific entrance bursary and award offerings at Trent University.


Bursary Name
New Student Entrance Bursary Entrance bursaries of $500 to $1000 are available to students with financial need who are attending post-secondary studies for the first time in September.
City of Peterborough Entrance Awards For entering students who are residents of the City of Peterborough. A $2,000 award is presented to the top two students in each Peterborough high school, who have a minimum 80% average and demonstrated financial need.
Athletic Entrance Bursary Athletic bursaries valued at a minimum of $500 are awarded to entering varsity athletes with a demonstrated financial need.

Entrance bursary applications are available in the myTrent student portal, under the Finances page.

Applications are available beginning in May of each year and the deadline to apply is June 30.
