Dear Sister Dorothy Marie:

A thousand apologies for this delay but I have been ill (in hospital and home) since January and my correspondence has gone by the board. I am only now trying to catch up, and I suppose these answers are too late for your thesis. I am better now but still indoors.

I haven't written anything of much value for a long time.

So sorry,
Yours sincerely,
E.J. Pratt

your thesis
The letter was accompanied by his answers to a number of questions she had sent him in December 1957. They were written on a separate page which, it seems, is no longer extant. See the letter to Sister Doyle, 21 July 1957.
