Good old George:

It was lovely to get your letter. I'd answer at length but I have been in doors since November with an injured foot and hypertension generally, which makes my hand shaky as you will readily perceive. I had some cardiac trouble but this has cleared up fortunately. But still I can say 'I love you' and your family and your poetry – Praise be to God, may He fix up my foot in due time.
