Dearest Vi:

I am retaining the Christmas cards and decorating the mantle-piece till you return.

The mails must be terrible as I haven't received a letter from you yet. I thought there would be one this morning when the whistler came. But it is the same everywhere, the Xmas rush making delivery worse.

I have stayed in all day but now I go to the York Club for the meeting. Elsie Pomeroy phoned to know how things were and two or three others whom I didn't know personally.

The best of love to you and Cakie.
