Dear Cayke:

Here is a letter which came from New York.

Cal spent two evenings with us. Last night I threw him a stag at the York Club. The old gang turned out in fine fettle, chaperoned by Malcolm Wallace now the senior of the crew.

Tomorrow your mother goes to Ottawa to give an address, and I am to have dinner with Kay Coburn on St Mary's Street. She is preparing corn[ed] beef and cabbage plus turnip for me. So I am being looked after well.
