Dear Murdo:

I have just sent off a personal note to Spencely giving a good leg-up to Eric. I am glad I had the two 'social' sessions with him so I could speak with personal knowledge. I hope he gets it. He is an A-1 chap.

In a few days I shall be off to Halifax, spending in the short interim a few hours with my Ottawa friends.
