[Aug. 1944]

Dear Miss Eayrs:

The printer left out the concluding stanzas of the 'Epigrapher.'

I have looked up 'Yangtze.' This is the way it is spelled.

E.J. Pratt

Would you mind also correcting a bit of the poem 'Newfoundland.'

I want to omit completely the line: 'And swept by the wings of dream' at the end of the first section. This will necessitate a period after 'authentic fires' which now concludes the passage. Would you kindly do this as I have sent forward the page proof uncorrected.

The letter refers to the Canadian edition of Pratt's Collected Poems then in production at Macmillan of Canada.
