[late April 1944]

Congratulations Arthur. It was what I earnestly hoped for. Ryersons played you up in advertisement well last Saturday.

About the C.B.C., will you write Charles Jennings, Director of Programmes for the C.B.C. 55 York Street, Toronto, saying that you would like to give a series of talks in June on Can. Poetry from Montreal. I am getting in touch with Jennings, and you can refer to me as suggesting the idea. Write at once as it takes months to plan items and materials.

Vi & Claire send their best.

Smith's News of the Phoenix and Other Poems had been awarded the 1943 Governor-General's Medal for poetry.
