Dear Mr Blackshaw:

Thank you for your kind letter and your cordial appreciation. It is very gratifying to find my work so much liked by you.

The Victoria University Library has asked me to collect my manuscripts for the Canadian section. I haven't decided to do so yet but may later on.

I have not written any verse since last October when Dunkirk was completed, but as soon as the academic year ends in May I hope to try my hand again and it will be a joy for me to present to you with my compliments (without any charge) any manuscript of a new poem.

Yours sincerely
E.J. Pratt

(My best to Mr Hagedorn)

Mr Hagedorn
John Hagedorn, the proprietor of the Doubleday, Doran Bookshop in Detroit, had been commissioned by Mr. Blackshaw to collect first editions of Pratt's work.
