Dear Rod:

The poem brings up a memory but I cannot exactly place it. I have looked up a few sources but with no result. Are you sure it is Canadian? Annie Charlotte Dalton wrote something like it.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to chat with you last week. I tried to do so at the C.A.A. meeting but couldn't get a word in edgewise for the ladies clustering around you.



Written in the bottom margin of a letter from Roderick Kennedy (identified as 'Editor Home Bookshelf'), dated 18 May 1938, on letterhead for the Family Herald and Weekly Star. Kennedy had asked Pratt for assistance in identifying the author (initials C.J.D.) of an attached poem.
