An Opportunity to visit with former teachers and with friends and colleagues, and to meet newer members of the Department

Program:

From 11:00am to 12:00pm:   Campus tours available, leaving from

                                                      Lady Eaton College

From noon to 3 pm:     A Barbecue in the Quad outside the Dining

                                         Hall, LEC (LEC Dining Room if rain)

1:00 pm:     Musical performances, The Pit and elsewhere, LEC -    

                     performances by : Mike Minor, Brendan Benson and others.

2:00 pm:     Readings by Richard Wright and others. (The Pit, LEC)

2:30 pm:     Presentations to David Glassco, Michael Peterman and Fred Tromly (Dining Hall, LEC)

3:15 pm:     Launch of the Department of English 2014 Fund, an

                     omnibus fund to honour the faculty who helped to build

                     the Department of English literature, and are retiring or

                     eligible for retirement in the years leading up to the

                     University’s 50th Anniversary in 2014:

                     David Glassco, Michael Peterman, Fred Tromly,

                     Orm Mitchell, Leonard Conolly, James Neufeld,

                     Richard Dellamora, Gordon Johnston, Zailig Pollock.

                     (Dining Hall, LEC)

Contributions to this fund will enable the Department to strengthen existing endowments, finance residencies by writers and scholars, and develop and enrich scholarships and prizes, awards and bursaries for our undergraduate and graduate students.
