Laptops for Learners

Welcome to the Laptops for Learners program.  Want to borrow a laptop from the DSO for the school year?  All you have to do is take accurate notes and submit them to our notetaking program.

The idea of Laptop for Learners is to increase the quality and accessability of notes being submitted.

 

Disability Services (DSO) provides academic accommodations for between 500-600 students at Trent each academic year.  One of our key supports is the sharing of peer notes with students whose disability supports this type of academic accommodation.

The DSO is seeking volunteers who would be willing to share their course notes with a student registered with DSO.  For those volunteers who are selected, DSO will lend the use of a laptop for the academic semester in which the notes are being provided.  In addition, for all of those students who volunteer to support others in this way, DSO will be offering a workshop series aimed at enhancing your skill level in notetaking.
