Trent Reads 2011: Eden Robinson's Monkey Beach

After an open call for nominations, public defence of five short-listed books and a week-long online voting period, Trent students, faculty and staff have selected Eden Robinson's Monkey Beach to be read by all new Trent students as part of Intoductory Seminar Week.

17 books were nominated by Trent faculty, staff, students and alumni in November. Choices were narrowed down to five based on the following criteria: engaging, likely to generate lively discussion, written by a living Canadian author, fiction or non-fiction.

A special Battle of the Books was held on February 3, where student champions for each book defended their choices. Watch their lively debate by following the links below.
