Welcome to Trent University. At our Oshawa campus, students can fulfill all their course requirements for a major in several disciplines (Anthropology; English Literature; History; Psychology; and Sociology) to earn their undergraduate degrees entirely in Oshawa. Starting this year, we are also offering our innovative Bachelor of Business Administration, giving students in the area access to one of the top business programs among small universities in Canada. In some other disciplines, students can take some of the core requirements for their major in Oshawa and attend Peterborough classes as required. At the first year level, students can complete their first year of university studies in Oshawa by choosing from among offerings in more than a dozen disciplines.
Trent University Oshawa has full-time Oshawa-based faculty members who are active in both teaching and research. While maintaining close ties to their home departments in Peterborough, they value the collegial and warm environment of a small academic community in which faculty from different disciplines actively interact on a regular basis. Our faculty and staff are committed to Trent University’s mission statement that includes “the centrality of the individual student.” This is especially evident with our small class sizes at our Oshawa campus.
Our Oshawa teaching is complemented by Peterborough faculty who come to Oshawa to teach a course as part of their regular teaching load, and by highly-qualified and experienced part-time instructors from the GTA. We have a full range of student services available in Oshawa. Our comprehensive academic advising program helps students select their courses and plan their studies. Through the student association and peer mentoring, Oshawa students help to create a supportive environment for university studies.
See the Trent University Oshawa web site for further information about our programs, open houses, campus visits and other useful items. Trent University Oshawa Thornton Road campus is conveniently located just five minutes north of Highway 401, at Thornton Road South and King Street, with close proximity to all the conveniences of Durham region, not to mention easy access to Toronto.
