Lisa Emmerton

Lisa Emmerton is a PhD candidate in the Cultural Studies program. Lisa completed her MA on popular animated TV sitcoms, such as The Simpsons, at the University of Northern British Columbia and graduated with the Governor-General's Gold Medal. She currently studies television and is working on a dissertation that examines Canadian youth dramas. She is also working on a couple of articles that will appear in edited collections: one investigates the inter-generational appeal of the teen detective series, Veronica Mars, and the other explores the 'makeover' reality series, What Not to Wear, focusing on how the BBC version of this series was remade for an American audience.
