Sean Kane began a scholarly career in Renaissance Literature at the Warburg Institute, London, and the University of Toronto, where his teachers were Marshall McLuhan and Northrop Frye (Spenser's Moral Allegory, 1989). His research field is now oral philosophy and literature (Wisdom of the Mythtellers 1998) and its modern reiterations (The Dreamer Awakes, ed 1995). He is also a nationally recognized novelist (Virtual Freedom 2002).
