Maralynn Cherry, a graduate of the Ontario College of Art, (AOCA) is a practising visual artist curator and educator.

Cherry has exhibited in galleries in both Ontario and British Columbia, created a performance piece in Cleveland, Ohio and constructed several outdoor installations. The multi-disciplinary nature of her work allows her to combine such media as cloth, steel, unspun wool, x-ray imagery, glass, natural specimens etc. She has written articles for magazines and catalogues and curated several exhibitions. She published a book work entitled ‘Ecological Diaries’ in 1996 as part of an outdoor sculptural installation in Kingston Ontario. In 2000 she curated an exhibition ‘Dream Ecology’ at both the Koffler Gallery in Toronto and the Robert McLauglin Gallery in Oshawa. She will be curator of the Visual Arts Centre of Clarington in 2005 and is in the process of mounting several upcoming exhibitions.

Her own work is concerned with the body in art, science and nature and she is currently working on a mixed media installation. For many years she has been developing multi media arts education programs across Ontario through the Artists in Education programs of the Ontario Arts Council. Cherry has visited diverse communities in rural Ontario as well as communities as far north as Kasabonika and Big Trout Lake.
