Overview - Trent from the water

Located in Ontario's Kawartha region, along the National Historic Trent-Severn Waterway, Peterborough is known for its scenic vistas, charming waterfront parks, historic downtown and an endless list of outdoor recreational activities.

Peterborough is home to many wonderful attractions, each expressing the unique character of this area; such as the Parks Canada Liftlock, Canadian Canoe Museum, Lang Pioneer Village, Peterborough Liftlock Cruises, and Petroglyphs Provincial Park. Each summer, the Peterborough Musicfest showcases some of the best musical acts in Canada - for free! - performing beside Little Lake on the outdoor stage at Del Crary Park. This signature outdoor event happens every Wednesday and Saturday night throughout the summer.

Just down the road from Trent is the lovely Riverview Park & Zoo, a wonderful family-oriented attraction, open to the public daily free of charge.

The downtown district features an eclectic mix of chic stores, funky restaurants, and historic buildings. We can suggest many enjoyable ways to enhance your retreat with easy-to-plan local outings. Our staff will gladly arrange recreational activities, educational programming, special on-site catered events, and discounts on area attractions, dining, and shopping through our many community partners.
