A Message from Gzowki College
Peter Gzowski College is Trent's newest college, and is located on the east bank of the Otonabee River, next to the Science Complex and Otonabee College.
In the Trent tradition, a College is substantially more than the buildings that house it. Our building is named “Enweying”, Anishnaabe for “The Way We Speak Together”, which is something we believe that our College namesake, CBC broadcaster, author and Chancellor at Trent, Mr. Peter Gzowski, would have thoroughly approved. The College is a community of students, staff and scholars from both Arts and Science faculties, thus we are a diverse community brought together by our passion for learning.
Gzowski/Enweying is home to the Departments of Indigenous Studies, Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration and the Office of Research. Enweying hosts the First Peoples House of Learning, including the First People’s Lecture Hall, Performance Space, Gathering Space and other ceremonial spaces indoors and out, and whose four elements are iintegrated throughout the building and the College.
Gzowski College team looks forward to meeting you and welcoming you personally to Trent and the College. We hope that as you explore Trent that you include a stop in the College Office to say hello and learn more about what’s going on.
