Welcome
to the Inorganic Materials Research Laboratory (IMRL) web pages at Trent
University. Please take a look around. Our
research goal is to develop novel routes for the fabrication of innovative,
hybrid materials that are chemically active and responsive to their
environment. Our work falls into four categories, each one building
on the other three. We build tailorable hybrid materials from silane
sol-gel chemistry. We use these matrices to encapsulate molecular additives
and nanoparticles. Finally, we develop titanium sol-gel precursors for
electronics applications. For more details on any of these areas check
