"The spirit of sustainability: why environmentalism and spirituality need each other"
Abstract: Environmentalism is the most spiritual of political movements; and in today’s world the quest for spiritual progress requires ecological as well as personal virtue. Spiritual seekers cannot live moral lives if they do not heed the political perspectives of the environmental movement; and environmental activists can benefit from spiritual teachings about compassion, humility, and joy.
