Ability edge is a program for recent university or college graduates with a self declared disability. Internships are paid positions ranging from six months to a year, focused on building relevant work experience for recent graduates.

AFS International Canada - Community Service Program

Combines placement in a work environment, lodging with a family or at the work site, and community activities, allowing you to live in the cultural and socioeconomic reality of your host country. Program duration is from 5 to 6 months. Chosen fields: human rights, women's equity, community development, business development, support to immigrants, support to persons with disabilities, environment conservation, support to senior citizens, public health, agriculture.

Aga Khan Foundation Canada - Fellowship in International Development Management

A 4-week seminar in Ottawa, followed by an 8-month placement with an NGO in Asia or Africa working with different aspects of development. Requires an Honours Bachelor degree.

AUCC - Students for Development

The AUCC (Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada) launched a program in 2005 called Students for Development. It is a project-based program for students to participate in development internships world-wide. Projects are constantly being created and completed for a wide array of student opportunities.

AuPair Program - Childcare Jobs Around the World

AuPair is an international program for cultural exchange. AuPair stands for "bigger sister/brother". The AuPair lives in the family and is provided free accommodation and food, as well as pocket money. In return, the family expects good childcare service and assistance in light housework.

Coady Youth Programs

Since 1997, the Coady Institute's Youth In Partnership Program has given recent Canadian university graduates experience working with development organizations in their area of expertise, to help them increase their understanding of development issues and participate in their roles as global citizens. Interns work for six-months with one of the Coady International Institute's partners in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Latin American and the Caribbean.

ECO Canada

ECO Canada is a program designed to allow graduates to get ahead in their profession, through increasing the chance of finding employment. Graduates get pre-approved for internship funding and then go on to target companies they wish to work for. Employers who hire these interns receive wage subsidy to cover some of the costs of training and employment. This gives pre-approved interns an advantage over other potential candidates.
