Just a reminder that even though the semester is coming to an end, we will still be open! The Career Centre will maintain regular hours until the summer, and will then be on a reduced summer schedule. The Career Centre has a great employment opportunity as the Summer Student Assistant (OWSP). Greeting and assisting students and completing research projects are a few of the many tasks the student will be working on during the summer. The Career Centre has purchased the online version of this Guide that is a must for anyone interested living and working overseas -- or even just interested in increasing their international skills.

Spin Master Innovation Fund (Start Your Own Business!)
Have an innovative idea to start your own business? The Canadian Youth Business Foundation and Spin Master Ltd. have created this fund to provide young, innovative entrepreneurs with up to $50,000 in financing, mentoring and expert advice for their start-up! Student Research Awards (Summer)
These research awards provide students (both undergraduate and graduate) with an opportunity to participate in 16 weeks of paid, full-time, research-based activity in the summer.

Life After Trent –
Effective Strategies to Find the Career You Love
Graduating students – the Career Centre is offering a seminar to help you prepare for life after Trent. You will participate in activities that will help you generate and explore career options as well as expand the ways you search for employment. Go to the website and click on the workshop to complete the registration for it.

“From Learning to Work” Research Survey, Win an iPad 2!
Trent is pleased to be participating in a national research study of student interests and attitudes regarding their careers and employers. The report, known as From Learning to Work, will help employers better understand how to attract students and graduates while also helping us learn how to better serve you with career planning support. You can start the survey here.
Summer Student Research Program
The Child & Family Research Institute’s Summer Student Research Program fosters research awareness and interest in the undergraduate and medical community.
The program attracts students from local, national and international academic institutions, and exposes them to research in the area of children’s and women’s health under the supervision of researchers from the Child & Family Research Institute or the Children’s and Women’s Health Centre of British Columbia.
The studentship is open to undergraduate students in sciences or allied sciences, and medical students. Students must be returning to school in September.
