Discover Your Options

You have spent some time looking inwards to discover more about yourself, now it's time to look outwards to determine what options and opportunities are available.  One of the most common questions of university students is, "What can I do with my degree?"  Some effective ways to learn more about your options and answer this question include:

• Check out What can I do with my Trent degree.
• Visit the Career Centre Library to read about different careers, educational programs, working abroad and more.  
• Access Career Cruising to listen to video clips from people in various occupations. 
• Check out the Discover Your Options tip sheet.  
• Use the Internet for further research. Visit our Links page.
• Conduct informational interviews with people to get a sense of the 'real world' aspect of the job.  
• Contact Trent Alumni in the fields in which you are interested, through the Alumni-Student Mentoring Program .
• Make an appointment with a Career Counsellor.
• Access the myLearningSystem Career Planning and Work Course.

Once you have finished researching, it will be time to begin making choices.  Remember these are simply initial choices and can be changed.
