How do I hear about OWSP or TIP funding programs?

Calls for funding applications will be advertised on the Faculty/Staff Portal.  As well, a fax bulletin will be sent.  Further questions, contact Financial Aid and TIP respectively.

Should all on-campus jobs be posted on workopolisCampus?

Yes, we encourage this as we tell students to look for jobs here.

What happens once my job is posted?

All draft jobs are reviewed by the Career Centre at the end of the day and posted.  In the case of OWSP/TIP positions, jobs will be posted once the Career Centre had been notified of funding approval by the appropriate department.  Please do not save jobs in your draft folder unless you wish them to be posted.

What is The Screening Room?

The Screening Room is an easy-to-use suite of tools that will help you hire qualified candidates. You can access the Screening Room from any Internet browser.  The Screening Room collects all resumes that are submitted to the recruiter through the Apply button on the job posting. The Screening Room is accessible only by Username and Password. Not just anyone can see who has applied to your jobs.

How do I view Screening Room Applicants?

If you use the Screening Room function you may view the students who have applied on-line by clicking on CANDIDATES then APPLICANT LIST.  You must remember to retrieve these resumes.  The Applicant List is a listing of all job seekers that have applied to your job postings via the workopoliscampus.com Apply button. It does not include applications that were e-mailed directly to you. No copy of the resumes on this list have been e-mailed to you.  The Screening Room also allows you to rank and shortlist candidates, email all the candidates, and save on paper.

How do I re-post archived jobs?

If you have posted a specific job in a previous year, you may retrieve it from the archives, edit it and re-post it. This can be done by selecting ARCHIVE listed under JOBS. Select the check box for the job in which you are interested and click COPY TO DRAFT at the bottom of the page. Next, enter your Draft folder by clicking the tab at the top of the page and edit appropriately.

How do I view job postings?

Staff and faculty can view job postings in the draft folder and in the archive folder.  Once the job is "open", you are unable to view it.  If you have changes that need to be made to "open" jobs or if you have any questions please e-mail worklink@trentu.ca or phone x6011.

I have hired a student. Now what?

When hiring a student, a Student/Casual Employment Form form must be completed for each position and sent to the Payroll Office. If you have any questions concerning this form or the procedures which should be followed to ensure students are paid promptly, please call Pauline Johnston at extension 7301.
