Sheldene Simola has worked at Trent since 2007, with teaching assignments in the areas of Strategic Management, Business Ethics, and Human Resources Management. Her research has been published in many scholarly journals including The Leadership Quarterly, Society and Business Review, Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences, Consulting Psychology: Research and Practice, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Personality Assessment, and, Professional Psychology: Research and Practice. Throughout her career, Sheldene has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Elliot Jacques Memorial Prize from APA Division 13 for the outstanding article of the year, the Emerald Publishing Literati Network Outstanding Article Award (2010), and the Laurier School of Business and Economics Gold Medal awarded to the top graduating student from the M.B.A./M.A.E. programs. Sheldene has received a major, multi-year research grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. Her research in the area of human resources management has been discussed through many popular media outlets and professional magazines in both Canada and the United States, including the Globe & Mail Report on Business, Canada A.M., CityTV, Exchange Morning Post, the Canadian Human Resources Reporter, and the prestigious U.S. Society for Human Resources Management. She is the past Editor/Rédactrice of the bilingual magazine of the Ethics Practitioners' Association of Canada and a Referee or reviewer for a number of scholarly management journals. She has consulted to multiple private and public sector businesses and/or associations.
