Past and present research projects and graduate students

Photos and descriptions of amphibian organs and organ systems as seen through a microscope

Photos and symptoms of tadpole abnormalities seen in the laboratory and the field.

FROG IDENTIFICATION:

Tools for identifying amphibians at varying life stages by photos, an identification table, and frog calls.

Histology webpages:
The lab has been performing toxicology studies that involve amphibian histology. The histology pages were created to assist those interested in unraveling the mysteries of the amphibian gonadal system nomenclature. This web site contains digital photos of transverse sections of Leopard Frogs stage 42 focussing on sex differentiation.
Development Abnormalities:
Our lab has been using frogs as a test species for many years and has therefore seen many abnormalities to tadpoles in the field and in the laboratory.
If you have noticed abnormalities or have witnessed a tadpole or frog die-off event please visit our Tadpole Monitoring Project website.
