Champlain Scholarship
Board of Governors’ Leadership Scholarship
Trent University Special Admissions Scholarship
Trent University’s most prestigious scholarships, the Champlain Scholarship, the Board of Governors’ Leadership Scholarship, and the Trent University Special Admissions Scholarship, are awarded yearly to new students entering their first year of study. Recipients of these scholarships are students who have displayed exceptional academic and extra-curricular achievement and are likely to have a significant impact on the life of Trent University.
The Champlain Scholarship has a value of $8,500 in the first year, and $3,000 in each of the succeeding three years providing that scholarship standing of 80 percent or above is maintained. These scholarships therefore have an overall value of $17,500 over four years. Two Champlain Scholarships are awarded each year.
The Board of Governors’ Leadership Scholarship has a value of $4,500 in the first year and $2,500 in each of the succeeding three years providing that scholarship standing of 80 percent or above is maintained. The scholarship therefore has an overall value of $12,000 over four years. One scholarship is awarded each year.
The Trent University Special Admissions Scholarship has a value of $4,250 in the first year and $2,250 in each of the succeeding three years providing that scholarship standing of 80 percent or above is maintained. The scholarships therefore have an overall value of $11,000 over four years. Between ten and fifteen Trent Special Admissions Scholarships are awarded each year.
Students must apply for the Champlain Scholarship, Board of Governors’ Leadership Scholarship, and the Trent University Special Admissions Scholarship by completing the attached application and submitting it with a resume to the Financial Aid Office by February 24, 2003.
Please note: Previous winners of these scholarships have normally had an average of 90 percent or better.
Other Entrance Scholarships
Students are automatically considered for all other entrance scholarships. No application is required for consideration for entrance scholarships other than the Champlain Scholarship, the Board of Governors’ Leadership Scholarship, and the Trent University Special Admissions Scholarship.

This application form is to be completed only by applicants for the Champlain Scholarship, Board of Governors’ Leadership Scholarship, and the Trent University Special Admissions Scholarship. Applicants should have achieved, or be expecting to achieve, a minimum admission average of 90 percent or equivalent.
Applications must be received in the Financial Aid Office by February 24, 2003.
