Portuguese
Studies Review
The
Review
began publication in 1991, at the University of New Hampshire, under the
editorship of Prof. Douglas Wheeler and within the framework of the International
Conference Group on Portugal (ICGP). It represented a continuation,
on a more formal footing, of the Portuguese Studies Newsletter,
published since 1976..
In 2002, when Prof. Wheeler relinquished
his editorship upon his retirement, the PSR became an independent
journal and moved from the University of New Hampshire (Durham) to Trent
University (Peterborough, Ontario).
The PSR is produced under its own auspices and
by its own staff, with the assistance of the Social Sciences and Humanities
Research Council (Canada) (Aid to Research and Transfer Journals,
Grant No. 647-2002-0064), using commercial printing facilities in Peterborough.
The Chief Editor is a tenured faculty member of Trent University. The
International Editorial Board is drawn from academic institutions around
the world.
PSR contents are abstracted and indexed in the Historical
Abstracts and America: History and Life, Worldwide Political
Science Abstracts, and Sociological Abstracts.
