Location: 4th Floor, Thomas J. Bata Library

The Map Library serves as the campus centre for cartographic information. We are committed to offering digital resources as well as several other cartographic collections.

The collection includes ca. 82, 236 sheet maps, 24, 063 aerial photographs, geocoded data, metadata, globes, vertical files and an extensive collection of atlases, cartobibliographies, gazetteers, technical manuals and other reference books. The Map Collection covers mainly Canadian material but other countries are well represented. We are a Full Depository for maps issued by Communication Canada's Map and Chart Depository Program. Under this Program we receive digital and paper copy of topographic maps of all of Canada at all published scales, maps published by the Geological Survey of Canada, as well as a variety of theme maps.

Most Map Collection materials can be accessed through Trent University Library’s web catalogue, TOPCAT. Indexes to aerial photography and topographic maps are also found in our collection. We hope that you will visit us soon.
