A non-profit organization which conducts research on social policy issues in Canada.
CASS : The Centre for Applied Social Surveys (UK)
CASS offers a survey Question Bank for use by social scientists and social researchers as well as links to relevant sites.
 Data on the Net

Demography and Population Studies
Links to information in the field of demography (from the Australian National University). A Virtual Library site.
Historical Atlas of Canada. Online Learning Project
An ongoing digitization project to make the Historical Atlas of Canada available online. It explores major themes and episodes in the history of Canada using maps, text and graphics. Historical population trends and data available to download.
International Data Base (IDB)
Computerized data bank containing statistical tables of demographic, and socio-economic data for 227 countries and areas of the world (from the U.S. Census Bureau).
The International Sociological Association
Considered an NGO in relation with UNESCO the ISA aims to represent sociologists everywhere. Information on committees, research groups, publications, etc.
OECD Online
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development provides discussion platforms for the economic and social policy of its 30 member countries. The core of original members has expanded from Europe and North America to include Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Mexico, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Korea.
OFFSTATS: Official Statistics on the WWW
The place for social, economic and general data from official or similar "quotable" sources, especially those that provide both current data and time series. In the country lists, these are mainly web pages provided by statistical offices, central banks and government departments and agencies, whereas the topics list is comprised of links to the statistics pages of international organizations and associations and a few commercial sites.
Online Dictionary of the Social Sciences
This social science dictionary has 1000 entries covering the disciplines of sociology, criminology, political science and women's study with a commitment to Canadian examples and events and names (from Athabasca University).
The Qualitative Report
An online journal dedicated to qualitative research (from Nova Southeastern University, Florida). Provides many other links to open access journals and resources.
