To find articles, start by searching in the indexes listed below. An index tells us where and when individual articles were published. Each index is different - in its looks, the type of topics it covers, and access to full text articles. If there's no link to full text in the index, use the link from the citation to the article, if Trent has access to it. See more information on finding articles.

For books, start with a TOPCAT search to see what books are in our library. Use a keyword search, unless you're looking for a particular book. If you know the title or author of a book, search for it that way - usually the first few words of a title will find it quickly. See more information on using TOPCAT.

In the "Other Online Resources" section you'll find links to some of our unique databases, including reference books, statistics, images, and primary resource sites that could be helpful for your topic.

Under "Websites" there are links to free websites that we consider academic and reliable for your research.

A directory of Chemistry on the Internet, including universities, institutions,and government agencies; companies, databases. Information is also listed under such sub-headings as analytical, biological, catalysis, computational, crystallography, education, engineering, environmental, geological, inorganic, molecules, organic, physical, spectroscopy, spectrometry, theoretical, and many more.

The American Chemical Society home page, Chemistry.org provides access to Chemcyclopedia Online, tables of contents, ACS publications, chemistry headlines, meeting locator, links to CAS,STN, SciFinder, etc..

Chemistry Preprint Server (CPS)

Free registration (through ChemWeb) is needed to access this preprint archive, launched in 2000.

Chemistry Resources on the Internet

An annotated list of useful resources under such headings as Chemical Data Sources, MSDS, Professional Societies, Electronic Journals, etc. (Winter 1998 issue of Issues in Science and Technology Librarianship).

Chemsoc

The international chemistry societies' electronic network. Services and information are made available by about 30 national chemistry societies. Chembytes infozone (chemsoc's library), provides daily science news, industry and product news, etc. Also included is a stunning 109 visual elements periodic table.

ChemWeb

ChemWeb features searchable chemistry journals and databases, jobs, chemical books, software and products, details of conferences. Free registration is required.

Links for Chemists

Part of the WWW Virtual Library this section is a well-organized index of over 8,225 chemistry resources on the web. The list is keyword searchable as well as viewable using 7 categories and 44 sub-categories. Links are classified under: university chemistry departments, companies, journals, societies, funding bodies, information sources, reference material and links pages.

Access to the full array of data compiled and distributed by the U.S.National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) under the Standard Reference Data Program .
