The Trent Library has arranged to have a small number of our purchased films licensed, digitized, and hosted for streaming over the internet. A company called McNabb Connolly is providing this service. Titles were selected based on circulation activity, demand for materials moving between Peterborough and Oshawa, and availability of streaming rights.
Streaming videos/films provide enormous flexibility over DVD and VHS formats. Intended to be viewed from personal computers and tablets, streaming videos/films can be watched at any time from any location. Showings need not be limited to class periods.
The titles available as of January 2012 (listed alphabetically) :
- GOD SLEEPS IN RWANDA
- IF ONLY I WERE AN INDIAN
- KEEPERS OF THE FIRE
- LIFE AND DEBT
- MAQUILOPOLIS
- MUFFINS FOR GRANNY
- RACE: THE POWER OF AN ILLUSION
- SON OF AFRICA
- STERILIZATION OF LEILANI MUIR
- THIRST
- UNNATURAL CAUSES: IS INEQUALITY MAKING US SICK?
Note that some films have been segmented into parts to
facilitate streaming.
