Description

MLA International Bibliography is an index of journal articles, books and dissertations. Produced by the Modern Language Association, the electronic version of the Bibliography dates back to 1963 and contains over 1.7 million citations from more than 4,400 journals and series and 1,000 book publishers. Coverage is international and subjects include literature, language and linguistics, folklore, literary theory & criticism, dramatic arts, as well as the historical aspects of printing and publishing. Listings on rhetoric and composition and the history, theory and practice of teaching language and literature are also included.
Now accessed through the Gale website, this database is integrated with the Literature Resource Center to provide wider access to literature resources with one search.
Search for a keyword, a person, or a work. Results are sorted into tabs for:
- criticisms,
- biographies,
- overviews,
- reviews,
- primary sources,
- multimedia, and
- MLA Bibliography results.
There are embedded links to full text resources, as well as a button for linking to our online journals and searching TOPCAT (for book chapters).
You can browse a list of authors, works, publications, publishers, or subjects if there's something specific you want to find. A new window opens with the choices listed.

Stable URL
|
A stable url (or durable link) is a link that connects an end-user to a particular item in a database or on the web.
At the bottom of a full record, find a link that says, "Document URL". This will link you back to this record at any time. See the image above.
To ensure off-campus access, be sure the proxy address is included.
You should see "lib.trentu.ca" embedded in the url (as it is in the image above).
If not, add the proxy prefix to the front of the url:
http://web2.trentu.ca:2048/login?url=
It would then look like: http://web2.trentu.ca:2048/login?url=http://go.galegroup.com/ps/i.do?id=GALE%7CN2810984590&v=2.1&u=ocul_thomas&it=r&p=LitRG&sw=w
