The JSTOR archive is a searchable electronic
database of full-text research journals in a variety
of academic disciplines. JSTOR includes the complete backruns of
the journals, from the first volume to 2-10 years ago
(no current volumes). Each title has a "moving wall" that determines which recent volumes are available; these walls can be 0-10 years and the current, incomplete year is not counted.
All articles are full text. Individual journals can be browsed or searched.
A search of the entire database can be performed.
The Trent Library subscribes to the entire JSTOR collection: Arts & Sciences I, II, III, IV, V, VI, Arts & Sciences Complement, and Life Sciences (Biological Sciences / Health and General Sciences combined). This includes over 1100 journals. See all titles included in the collections.
JSTOR, a not-for-profit organization, began in 1994 as a pilot
project by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to help libraries meet
the space and budgetary challenges posed by the growing volume of
scholarly research.
