Employment Opportunities at the Trent University Library

Student Positions (part-time)

Generally, student positions in the library are available through the Library Work Study Program. This program is open to all Canadian students receiving financial aid, including out of province students. Out of province students must complete an application form (.pdf file) and return it to the Financial Aid Office in Blackburn Hall. Ontario students do not need an application; they will receive an eligibility card when they pick up the first installment of OSAP funding. For more information about on-campus employment please see the Work Study webpages from Financial Aid.

Along with all jobs available in all Campus Departments across the University, Library Work Study positions appear on the My Job Board website. Applications should be sent directly to the area manager in the Library that has posted the position. See Career Centre for more details.

Library Work Study advertisements may ALSO appear on this page and students should follow the application instructions that come with the respective job ad.

There are currently NO student library jobs posted on My Job Board.

Occasionally, various positions may come up outside of the parameters of the Library Work Study Program depending on funding availability. Please keep checking back.

Staff Positions (full/part-time)

Available positions in the library are announced on the Human Resources site. All positions are posted and filled through this office. Applications must be sent to Human Resources.

Librarian Positions

Librarians are part of the Faculty Association at Trent University. Available positions are posted through the Dean's Office. When positions are available, find them under Full Time and Part Time opportunities.

Postings are also sent to major library school jobsites. Each posting specifies the application procedures required for that position.

Librarian positions require a Masters degree from an ALA-accredited library school (MLS or equivalent).
